The most vibrant neighbourhood to spend a night out in Barcelona is in Barrio Gotico, part of the old town of this Mediterranean city. It is the place where most of Barcelona´s valuable history is captured and this atmosphere is excellent.  To spend your perfect Barcelona night you can go to the old town and explore the best nightlife in Barcelona.

To explore this neighbourhood in its best way is by staying in an apartment in Barrio Gotico.  Our Barcelona apartments are suitable for everyone needs and demands.

Las Ramblas

Walk down the Ramblas in Barcelona and you will find several places to take a drink or to have dinner. Restaurant Attic, we proposed it before, is a very nice place with a terrace giving you the opportunity to see boasts view to the Ramblas. The Mediterranean cuisine is very good and  you´ll get good value for money. During dinner you will feel the Ramblas atmosphere. Address: Las Ramblas 120.

Ice cream parlour ‘ Amorino’  offers very creative ice creams, as their ice creams are shaped in the patters of a flower. You can add many different flavours as you want! Ramblas 125

  • Close to the Barcelona Cathedral you can find ´Els 4 Gats´ (The four Cats) which was one of Picasso´s favourite places. You can go here for dinner in the restaurant or to just eat some tapas with a nice drink in the bar.

  • Another bar we would like to recommend is Bilbao-Berria (Plaza Nova 3, metro station Jaume I, L4 yellow): Do not be fooled by its appearance as it at first glance seems like a crowded tourist place. Come in and choose the pinchos (tapas on a stick) just as you like, they are delicious. We went to this bistro many times and it was always delicious. It is usually crowded and many of them are tourists, but you will also find local people who love these pinchos. Among the curiosities is that they have small dessert tapas too, which are also delicious.

  • In Barrio Gotico are plenty of bars and it won´t be hard to find one. In Carrer Farran you´ll find several Irish pubs with their own typical atmosphere. Another nice Irish pub (on the edge of Barrio Gotico, Via Laietana) is Dunne´s.
  • At Plaza del Pi different nice bars are situated and the backdrop is very much worth visiting this square. The church on this square is used for concerts, also nice!

Our favourite square in Barrio Gotico is Plaza Real, close to the Ramblas. This pretty and cosy square is filled with terraces belonging to the different restaurants and bars. Besides these there are several night clubs. On this square you will see a fountain and the two famous street lights designed by Gaudi. Check out the details on these two lampposts, all referring to the symbols for Barcelona and Catalonia (flag, colours, bats, crosses). You can actually enjoy a whole night out without even leaving the square.

  • A very nice and famous restaurant is ´Les 15 Nits´. As they do not accept reservations, make sure you get there early to avoid you have to line up.
  • Sinatra is a restaurant in one of the alleys next to the square.  The atmosphere and service in this restaurant are great and the food delicious. Try one of the creative tapas, for example as a starter. You will be welcomed with a free glass of cava while your table is being prepared. (C/Heures, 10 Barcelona)

Most Barcelona nightlife clubs are situated a little bit outside the old city centre. But also near Plaza Real you will be able to find nice clubs.

  • The first one is Jamboree with live jazz music and after it turns into a disco mostly playing hip-hop, funk and blues styles.
  • Another nice place is Karma club which  is a bar, terrace and club in the same time (Plaza Real, 10). The club opens at 00.00.

In these Barcelona clubs you are able to end a great night out in Barcelona. For more information about Barcelona and the nightlife, we have a Barcelona nightlife guide which covers all information you need.
