Yes, we all know that Barcelona has a beach, is full of architectural and artistic attractions, museums, restaurants, the capital of modernist art and more. But many who come to the city, do have something else in mind: the great Spanish action: the party.

After seeing the funny video of Noel Sak “Johnny, la gente está muy loca,” which parodies the ongoing tourism and partying in the city, I said to myself: it is certainly true many come to Barcelona to party and I wondered: What would be a perfect day out in Barcelona?

First of all, take advantage of the good weather. The first thing to do is go to the beach, one of the livelier beaches of the city, such as the Barceloneta and Nova Icaria. Here we must ensure we are placed near a beach bar, so we can enjoy the music and the cocktails.

After spending several hours on the beach getting a nice tan and when we get to the point we have appetite, you certainly have to go to the bar Can Paixano (Calle de la Reina Cristina 7), better known as the Xampañería or Xampa, where you can enjoy delicious cava (sparkling wine ) for great prices and delicious sandwiches (my favourite is butifarra with onions). Clearly spoken, the Xampañería is an ancient but very charming place and the main detail is to arrive before 17:00h, so you can buy cava bottles (and not by the glass) and you get more for your money. I do not know why I always let my friends and I go to the Can Paixano so often, as it is always rather crowded that one can hardly move and they will ask you to be quiet if you make too much noise … The last time we were there we almost got thrown out for singing birthday songs to one of the girls, but it was fun though!

For the evening, after taking a shower and prepare yourself a little, just go out for the first drink of the night. There are many in bars in Barcelona, ??but if you want a particular one, with rich cocktails and a remarkable ambiance but nothing posh, go to the Rabipelao (Calle Mercè 26) in the Borne neighbourhood, a bar where you will find delicious Venezuelan mojitos and long drinks made with different types of rum of various qualities and prices and delicious daiquiris. They have better prices than many bars in Barcelona and also the atmosphere is relaxed, jovial and Latin.

It’s time to go party, so let’s head to Villa Olympica,  the best place to go clubbing in the summer and the best club in the place to choose is Opium Mar (Passeig Maritim 34). Good music, entertainment, cool decor, beautiful people, tourists and locals wanting to have a good time and meet many people, especially to hang out until dawn. The best thing at Opium Mar is its terrace overlooking the sea, so when you leave the club you can finish your night out and start the new day on the sand of the beach as I have done so many times…
