There are plenty of things to do during January 2011 in Barcelona, among them we can find events, congresses, fairs and tradeshows. Several of these activities are organised by the City Hall within its Christmas Holidays plan. Following, you’ll find a calendar with the events and fairs in January in Barcelona, so you can update your schedule and go to those activities that interest you the most.

Free activities during January 2011 in Barcelona

The City Hall recommends some free activities, such as:

  • Christmas Projections at the City Hall’s facade. Every afternoon until January the 6th, from 6pm to 9 pm.
  • Three Kings parade in Barcelona. The traditional Three Kings parade can be enjoyed on the main avenues of Barcelona during the afternoon of January the 5th.

Intercultural New Year’s party at Centro Erasme Janer. This party is celebrated at Erasme Janer center and is organised by Casa Eslava. The event takes place on January 21st from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm and the entrance is free. Additional information can be found at Casa Eslava. Address: C/ Erasme de Janer 8, el raval.

Antiques fair – Gothic Market. From December 27th to January the 5th 2011, there is an antique fair held at the cathedral avenue (gothic quarter). This special edition of the fair includes glassware, porcelain, books, furniture and other decorative items.

Three Kings fair at Vía. The traditional Christmas FAir with more than 300 booths where you can buy toys, cd’s and the charcoal brought to children by the Three Kings on January the 6th. This fair is located on  Gran Vía de les Corts Catalanes, between Rocafort & Muntaner streets, from December 17th to January the 5th. On this last night the fair closes at 3:00 am.

Creative Ceramics fair at Portal del Ángel. A ceramics and crafting fair located on Portal del Angel avenue from December 8th to January the 5th.

Events & fairs in Barcelona 2011. Paid activities.

Expohogar 2011 Barcelona. The first tradeshow to be celebrated in Barcelona during 2011, Expohogar Primavera from Juanuary 21st to the 24th. This tradeshow features household related products such as decoration items,  and is an event for professionals only.

The Brandery Winter 2011. The now famous fashion exhibition “The Brandery” will be held at Barcelona’s Montjuic fairgrounds from January 26th to the 28th. It is a fair aimed at industry professionals where they can preview all the fashion trends for the upcoming season.

Matinee Winter Festival New Year’s Party (entrance: 35€ w/ two drinks). This party is held by Matinee group on saturday January the 1st, starting at 1:00 am at the Pabellón Olimpico in Badalona (Av. Alfons XIII, 114). It looks likes it’s gonna be one of the biggest New Year’s parties in Barcelona. Further information on how to buy tickets for this ball at Matinee Winter Festival.

“Crib” Exhibition. From November 19th to February 2nd a “Crib” (miniature models of Christ’s birthplace) Exhibition is held in Barcelona. The exhibition is located at the Parroquia de la Virgen de Belén church (xuclà número 2, el raval)  and from January 7th can only be visited on Sundays, from 11am to 2 pm and 5pm to 9 pm. General entrance 2,50€.
