The Archaelogical Museum of Seville has 27 show rooms, where yu can admire important works from the excavations of Italica, Santiponce and Diana. This museum has at least 60 thousands of archaelogical pieces. Beside, it has a specialized library in archaeology, art and museum sciences, as well as an archive and a a workshop of conservation and restoration.

The rooms of the Archaeological Museum of Seville are disposed in a chronologic order from the Lower Paleolithic to the Middle Ages. The estimated time for visiting the museum is around 2 hours.  The museum is opened from Tuesday to Saturday from 9:00 am to 8:30 pm and on Sundays, from 9am to 2:30 pm. The entrance is for free for all the EU citizens;  if you are from any other country, you will need to pay 1,50 euros to get in.

Some of the most important pieces tyou will admire at the Archaeological Museum of Seville are from the Carambolo Treasure, the Ebora treasure and the Mairena treasure, as well as the Codex Pugillaris, an interesting set of small boards to write, from the 1st century after Christ.

The parl of Maria Luisa is located  20 minutes away from the Royal Alcaza, so it’s recommendable to come her on foot. If you want to take a bus, take one of the lines 1, 6, 30, 31, 34 and 37 .
