The traditional “Greasy Thursday” (Gras Dijous) will be celebrated on march 3rd, and this day people eat very heavy food. A “tortilla” (spanish omelette) contest is popular this day, awarding the originality and beauty and of course the flavour. If you feel in the mood for cooking, bring your own “tortillas” to the contest!

Without any doubts , the main event on Carnival weekend in Barcelona is “La Rua de Carnaval” or Carnival Street, that is usually organized on Paral-lel avenue, on saturday March 05th, starting at 8 pm. In this traditional parade you will see floats, music and shows. One of the singular shows in the parade is the very colorful representation of  Barranquilla’s Carnival in Barcelona, representing the traditions for this popular festivity in the Colombian coast.
