The traditional main dish for this day are the Catalan Canneloni, filled the leftovers of the meat of the escudella of Christmas lunch, baked with bechamel sauce and cheese… Really delicious!

All these meals has 2 elements in common; one of then is the dessert. As in other parts of Spain, the turron -a nougat candy- is the star, you can choose either the hard turron of Alicante, the soft turron of Jijona, or any other variety; you will also find marzipan, mantecados  and polvorones -a sort of sweet cookies made with pork fat and almonds, and the neules, cylindrical crispy wafers.

To drink, it’s mandatory to have bottles of cava, a white sparkling wine similar to champagne, made in Catalonia.
