With the festival of Sant Joan the summer solstice is celebrated, this is the arrival of summer in the northern hemisphere. In fact, it is the shortest night of the year and probably one of the liveliest. Note that all the celebrations make there is quite some noise caused by music,  dancing and fireworks which will make the evening of June 23 not exactly a good night to sleep, but rather a night to celebrate and have a good time.

Finally, do not forget to try the traditional Cocas of Sant Joan during this holiday. It is a kind of very thin cake, with different covers (almonds, pine nuts, candied fruits, etc) made for the occasion. They are delicious!
