El Clot neighborhood is part of the District of Sant Martí in Barcelona. The Clot is one of the oldest neighborhoods in the area, as it existed since the medieval ages, under the mane of Clotum Melis (Honey Clot). At that time, El Clot produced high quality honey, as well as agricultural products, which served to provide food to the city of Barcelona.

In the nineteenth century, the Clot became an important industrial area and its population grew significantly. Currently, the district has been losing its industries and has become a quiet residential area, away from tourist traffic, but well connected to the rest of the city of Barcelona by public transportation.
