There is an area in Madrid called Almendra Central. The architect, Fernando Arbós, is the one who started to build this Pantheon in 1891but, in 1901, the construction stopped because of economic issues. The construction site finally came to an end in 1926.

Some of the famous people that are buried there are: Agustín Argüelles (the Marquis of Duero), Muñoz Torrero or Juan Alvarez de Mendizábal. The graves and the funerary monument have been made by famous cravers like Mariano Benlliure and Agustín Querol.

If you want to know how to go to the Pantheon of famous names in Madrid, you should first know that it is located at 3 Julian Gayarre Street and that you can use the bus or the metro to go there. The bus lines that go to this place are: 10, 14, 24, 26, 32, 37, 54, 57, 140 and 141. Moreover, the closest metro stations are the Atocha-Renfe metro station (line 1) or Menéndez Pelayo station (line 1).

The entrance to the Pantheon is free between 10 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. On Sundays and bank holidays, the Pantheon closes earlier (at 3 p.m.).
