You are in one of the apartments in Madrid center and it is already time to go to the airport either you go back to home or you pursue your holidays in other destination. How to go to the Madrid airport? There are many options that we will see in more details.

The first one: you can take the bus at the Madrid Airport. The lines that go to the 4 terminals of the airport are: the Express Atocha-Aeropuerto (2€ and it takes 40min when there is a normal traffic) and it operates all the day and the line 200 Avenida de América-Aeropuerto that operates between 5 a.m. and 11 p.m. Another bus that goes to the Madrid Airport is the line 101 Canillejas-Barajas (it only goes to the terminals T1 and T2 of the Barajas Airport and operates from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.).

Second option: the tube. At the Terminals 4 Barajas, there is a tube station, where you can take the line 8 which goes from Nuevos Ministerios to the Airport (this line also goes to T1, T2 and T3). The journey lasts about 25 minutes and costs 3,50€ and only 2,50€ if you own the tourist ticket. The tube station opens between 6 a.m. and 2 a.m.

Another option, if you have a lot of luggage is to take the taxi at the Madrid Airport. It is more expansive but if you have a lot of luggage or even fragile goods, it is the easiest option. It takes around 30 minutes to go to the airport from the Puerta del Sol (depending on the hour and the traffic). The price is established with a taximeter but the average cost is 25€ (including the 4,50€ supplement for the airport). And if you go from the airport to Madrid center, you may want to know that there are official taxi stops in all the terminals.

Finally, if you don´t want to depend on hours, you also have the option to rent a car at Madrid Airport to go to your holiday apartment in Madrid. The Avis, Hertz, Europcar and National Atesa companies are settled in the T1 and T4 terminals. There is also the Aerocity-Ares company which provides you a car with a driver which is very useful for groups or for people who travel with pets. The average cost for 3 people for a direct journey is 33€.
