Madrid Tennis Open is the first gay tennis tournament in Madrid and it started in 2002. As the time Omar Hossain decided to establish a gay tournament. He was inspired by the GayGames of Amsterdam. Originally, the tournament was only opened to guys but since 2008 girls can also participate in. In 2011, there were 90 people attending the event and, in 2012, they hope this number will increase.

The Madrid Tennis Open will take place between the 27th and the 29th of July and it will be a sensational end of week as far as the event also includes leisure parties from 10 p.m. In that sense, a good option in order to attend this event would be to rent an apartment in Madrid (good location, easy access).

The tennis players´ and the visitors´ registration for the Madrid Tennis Open will start on the end of April or beginning of May. In 2011, the registration fee was 80€ and the 2-events pack (party + diner) cost 115€. Soon the official webpage of the event will update the information: http://www.madridtennisopen.com/ENG/
