Therefore we present here the 10 best surfing beaches in Barcelona. This list also includes beaches in other parts of Catalonia.

1. Barceloneta beach: in this central part of Barcelona you can surf from time to time, when it´s windy, you can find groups of surfers waiting for a wave. The best time to surf at Barceloneta beach, is between October and March, but you can have lucky on a summer day.

2. Bogatell: Located near Barceloneta, in the heart of downtown Barcelona, ??it shares the same characteristics.

3. Sitges: One of the best surfing beaches near Barcelona is right in front of the cemetery of the town. The waves do not break too hard, but it allows surfers to enjoy good surf sessions.

4. Montgat: this beach you can enjoy surfing without crowds. You can get to Montgat by a RENFE train (trèn de cercanías), with the stations Montgat and Montgat Nord.

5. Vilassar: Another of the beaches that you can easily access by the RENFE train (trèn de cercanías). When there are a lot of waves, this place is not suitable for beginners, and even with experience and there is a crosswind, you can not surf.

6. Masnou: In this beach you will find long waves, as long as the wind blows strongly in the direction east or northeast. Keep in mind that on days of good waves it can be very crowded and going down to the beach must be done through a rocky road. It can be dangerous.

7. Premià: In this beach there are several waves suitable for surfing, but lately, it is rather crowded.

8. Port Ginesta: If you want to have a good day, you will enjoy a very fun surf session at this beach. Keep in mind that this beach can be exposed to quite a hard  wind.

9. Garraf: If you’re lucky, you can find good waves in this small beach.

10. Castelldefels: If you, instead of surfing, prefer kite surfing you can take the long beach of Castelldefels. However, take into account on this beach kite surfing is prohibited between 1 June and 30 September.

    Pues mira, todo depende de como estén tanto la marea como los vientos. Lo mejor que te podemos recomendar es que chequees el estado de las olas en alguna de las páginas webs que tienen videocámaras en las playas y así te dará una idea de cuando están mejor para surfear.
    Otra cosa, siempre que puedas, te recomedamos ir en días de semana, para que haya menos gente en la playa.
