If you come for travelling and would like to try seafood restaurants in Barcelona, you should definitely go to the restaurant La Paradeta. This is a simple restaurant with a different way to run: In a counter, that looks like a fish market, you can choose the amount of seafood you want to eat and then you tell whether you want it breaded or grilled, you choose with what you’re going to accompany you fish (the choices are a simple: salad and / or bread) and what you want to drink, you pay and wait until it is prepared and ready to be served . No waiters, no frills or pretensions, just good seafood for good prices. It is an ideal place to go with family and friends, but not to have a romantic dinner or celebrate a special date. Keep in mind that credit cards are not accepted and they do not take reservations, so we suggest you arrive early (at 20:00) if you do not want to end up in a long queue to enter.

If you decide to go, The Paradeta will not disappoint you. Be sure to ask for navajas and mussels (on very low prices), delicious crab, breaded squid and grilled shrimp, which are all delicious. If you want something a little more special, you can also ask for lobster. There is octopus, squid, a variety of fish, clams and more. If you accompany it with an Albariño white wine (always ask for the Marquis de Vizhoja, fruity and for a good price), will ensure your dinner will be perfect.

There are several Paradeta restaurants in Barcelona, we recommend the one located in El Borne (Carrer Commercial 7, just behind the old Born market) or the one in the area of the Sagrada Familia (Passatge Simó 18).
