What could you do for Easter Week in Madrid?

Easter Week in Madrid is the perfect time to enjoy the typical Easter gastronomy. Indeed, you really need to try the delicious specialities of Madrid such as:

  • Las Torrijas: the most traditional dessert of Easter Week. There are fried slices of bread coated in milk and eggs and sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon.
  • Los Pestiños: delicious fried pastries covered with honey.
  • Buñuelos, croquetas, tortillas… all made with cod.
  • Chickpea soup

Besides if you want to take part in the religious activities or if you just want to see something really typical you can watch one of the many processions organized in Madrid during Easter Week. Some of the most important processions are the following:

  • The “Paso del Cristo de la Fe y el Perdón” which is celebrated on Palm Sunday (1st of April). The papal basilica of San Miguel, located in the center of Madrid at 4 San Justo Street, is the point of departure.
  • The procession “Nuestro Padre Jesús de la Salud” takes place on Holy Wednesday (the 4th of April). Its point of departure is the Parish church Nuestra Señora del Carmen y San Luis, which is also located in the center of the city at 10 Carmen Street.
  • The “Procesión del Silencio” takes place on Good Friday (the 6th of April) and it is one of the most singular procession with a lot of members of the church who walk through Madrid streets in a complete silence.

If you want to come to the Spanish capital, we advice you to look for an accommodation for days in Madrid as soon as possible and you will be able to enjoy your time in a comfy and affordable place.

    C’est seulement pour corriger quelques fautes : Las torrijas: le dessert le plus typique. Tranches de pains panée dans du lait…. et saupoudrées de sucre et cannelle. Pestinos: pâtes de fruit baignées dans le miel. Buñuelos… élaborés à base de morue. Potaje (sopa)de garbanzos:soupe de pois chiches.
    Nada más….
