The most traditional sailor square, it is very interesting and with a singular personality.
In ancient times this picturesque neighbourhood housed the fishermen in small cottages. Although they have been modified you can still appreciate, with their alleys and the clothes spread in the terraces of the houses.
Their two marine walks, the National (with different offers of restaurants) and the “Passeig Marino” are its more outstanding attractiveness.
We will also find in the “Plaça de la Barceloneta”, the church of San Miguel of style fair Baroque in the centre of the neighbourhood.
In front of the dock, the “Torre de Sant Sebastiá”, from where it leaves the cable car toward Montjüic.
And finally, a sunbath under the sun in their long beaches so popular during the whole year. It is also ideal in order to practice windsurf, footing and ride. In summer, its “chiriguintos” (bars on the sand), creates a very animated atmosphere.
