During the games of '92, the “Villa Olimpica” had to accommodate thousands of athletes and spectators, architects from all over the world were called in and designed modern and stylish buildings. Some of the main features are the towers at 142 meters high, the Arts Hotel in the Villa Olímpica is surrounded by a steel frame, so it seems like it is in scaffolding. Another feature of this great area is the golden sculpture ‘Pez y Esfera’, designed by Frank Gehry, representing a headless fish, quite a sight!!.
The village also has a beautiful promenade which is full of sculptures and really nice for leisurely strolls at any time of the day but more so in the evening, this is a very lively neighbourhood with lots of trendy restaurants and bars and the atmosphere is alive and palpable!!
In this splendid and gentle neighbourhood, besides enjoying their stupendous and calm beaches, you can stroll, ride, enjoy the small stores settle outdoors and where it can be acquired from sheets of drawings until art objects. Also, you can go for a walk in its commercial centre, full with stores, restaurants, supermarket and a cinema with 15 rooms the movies are exhibited in original version).
The Olympic Port, is at the moment one of the areas with more leisure in Barcelona; it offers a wide range of stores, bars and restaurants where people meet mainly at night.
