Until the night of January 5, when the yearly arrival of the 3 Kings will be celebrated with toys for the children throughout Spain, stalls along the Gran Via street in Barcelona, Spain, between the streets Entenza and Muntaner, will sell all kind of toys and sweets.

The festival, which goes on until December 23, is dedicated to digital culture and is held in more than 40 cities world wide, apart from Barcelona, Spain.

One of the programmes shows the best video clips of the last ten years, and another one shows with ten short films which represent the spirit of the festival experimentation.
 
The Resfest festival, which travels to more than forty cities around the world, is dedicated to digital culture. It will be in Barcelona from 21 to 23 December, at a new location, the Espai Movistar.

This year, the festival celebrates its tenth anniversary with two retrospective programmes, one with the best video-clips shown over the last ten years, and the other with ten shorts representing the spirit of experimentation of the festival.

On January 28, 2007, the annual movie awards will be given in Madrid to the different categories, such as best film, best director, best actor, best actress and others.

Favorites are the films Volver by Pedro Almodovar (14 nominations) and Alatriste by Agustin Diaz Yanes with 15 nominations, followed by El laberinto del fauno by Guillermo del Toro and Salvador by Manuel Huega with 13 and 11 nominations respectivly.

The four films compete for the Best Film and Best Director awards. Volver and El laberinto del fauno compete for the Best Original Screenplay, and Salvador and Alatriste compete for the Goya regarding the Best Adapted Screenplay.

Juan Diego is one of the favorites for the Best Leading Actor in the film Vete de mi, while Penelope Cruz competes for the Best Leading Actress in the film Volver.

Until the beginning of March, forty works from the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York will be shown at the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya (MNAC).

The paintings from the beginning of the 17th Century to the end of the 19th include European artists such as Van Gogh, Gauguin, Goya, El Greco, Van Dyck, Monet, Renoir and others.

Until December 23, you will have the chance to visit the yearly Christmas fair Santa (Saint) Lucia, which dates back to the 18th century, with almost 400 stalls, and which is located at the Cathedral square and the adjoining narrow streets in the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona.

Handcrafts and instruments of all kind can be bought as well as Christmas trees and ornaments or Christmas figures.

Until November 26, 2006, takes place at the Fira de Barcelona the second book fair.

Come and join at the fair the more than 100 publishers which display their books on more than 13 thousand square meters.
The venue also includes almost 300 activities, going from reading recitals and competitions to music performances, aimed at about any kind of person and age group.

From today until November 19, 2006, the fair at the Fira de Barcelona will offer a wide range of products to the general public, in order that the winter sports fans can begin to plan the upcoming season.

The more than a hundred exhibitors include sportswear manufacturers and distributors, travel agencies, ski stations, hotels and companies that offer adventure sports.

Taking the Camino Frances (French Way), the most popular route of all, the Camino de Santiago can be covered in almost one month, which means a total of about 750 km separating Roncesvalles in the province of Navarra (Navarre, Spain) and Santiago de Campostela (Galicia, Spain). Starting point are the French Pyrenees.

Of course you can also join the St. James Way during any of the different stages. One of the stages covers Santo Domingo de la Calzada in La Rioja and Villafranca de Montes de Oca, province of Burgos (Castile and Leon), with many fountains and historic monuments along the route.

The next stage passes Atapuerca, a village which has become very well known due to the importance of archaeological finds regarding the human origin and evolution and reaches Burgos with its gothic Cathedral and chapel, which is dedicated to Santiago, and also many churches.
